            Pros

            Cons

Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin is an herbal dietary supplement which the manufacturer says helps to fight cell-damaging free radicals while supporting the immune system. Beyond that the company, which produces and sells numerous health, fitness, nutrition and lifestyle supplements and has been in operation for over 40 years, doesn’t say much about this particular product. Is this product focused on a narrow scope of curcumin’s potential benefits? Is it too narrowly focused or maybe these goals are just the ones you need. Read our full review below for all the details.

What is in Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin?

Every capsule contains the following ingredients:

            • Turmeric root (Curcuma longa) 900 mg – One of two active ingredients, gives this formula its antioxidant power for eliminating free radicals in the body
            • Turmeric Standardized Root Extract (Curcuma longa) 100 mg – The second active ingredient, it provides 95% curcuminoids.
            • Bioperine (5 mg) Black Pepper fruit Extract – Helps increase absorption of the active ingredients

Other ingredients include Gelatin and vegetable stearic acid. It is gluten free and doesn’t contain artificial color, sweetener, flavor, sugar, preservatives, starch, soy, lactose, fish, yeast, wheat, milk, sodium or starch.

How Do You Use Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin?

The recommended dosage for adults, which for some reason is not listed on the product website (such information is — or usually is — standard across the industry) is one to two capsules per day, preferably with a meal. Optionally, the capsules can be emptied into hot water prepared as a tea.

Nursing or pregnant women, or anyone taking medication should consult a doctor before using this supplement. You should discontinue use and contact your healthcare provider if you notice any adverse reactions.

            The Cost

At the time of our review, we were unable to buy a single bottle from the manufacturer’s website. The minimum number of bottles we could order was three 60-count bottles for $28.99. The manufacturer characterized this as “buy one, get two free”. However, we were able to find a single 60-count bottle of the product available on Amazon for $10.79. Quick math shows that the three-bottle “deal” is definitely not including two free bottles. Not only is it annoying that the manufacturer’s site doesn’t allow purchase of a single bottle, but it is was shifty in trying to present this as a bargain.

            Is there a Guarantee?

Puritan’s Pride products come with a one-year money back guarantee. At first this seems like a strong guarantee but, again, the devil is in the details. If their products don’t meet your expectations, you can return the remaining product to get a refund of the unused portion. To be clear: they only refund the unused portion, which boils down to not being able to try the product risk-free.

The Conclusion of Our Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin Review

Puritan’s Pride Turmeric Curcumin minimally promotes itself as a dietary supplement for fighting free radicals and boosting the body’s immune response. It is difficult to find all that much which is positive about the way the company presents the product, as it provides minimal information on what the product is intended for and no information on the product page about dosage. The sales tactics on the manufacturer’s product page are sly (to put it nicely) and the return policy, while generous in its time frame does not allow you to test the product’s effectiveness risk-free.

All in all, not a particularly impressive product.
