            Pros

            Cons

This is a review of Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel, a product that has been formulated not only to reduce the appearance of scars and quickly fade and lighten red and angry-looking scars but also to flatten keloids, the raised, bumpy fibrous tissue that often forms on and around scars. Keloids are sometimes even more disfiguring than the original scars, so a product that really can soften and flatten them is to be welcomed.

Premium scar gel is formulated to go on smoothly and coolly, without itching or stinging; and it smells pleasant so you don’t feel as if you are applying a medicine.

Healing Touch claims that the product will help scars fade away. This applies to both old and more recent scars, although the sooner any scar is treated, the better. In fact, Healing Touch claims that some new scars may even vanish with repeated applications of Premium Scar gel – but there was no evidence provided to back up this claim.

Nevertheless, the five active ingredients in Premium Scar Gel are all widely used is high-end cosmetic products, including skin care products.

What’s in Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel?

            • Dimethicone – a type of silicone, one of the most widely used in cosmetics, haircare and skincare because of its ability to help improve skin texture.
            • Panthenol – a form of vitamin B5, Panthenol penetrates the skin to provide lubrication and hydration.
            • Hexapeptide-9 – helps to regenerate the skin collagen, reducing the appearing of wrinkles and skin blemishes.
            • Allantoin – soothes, heals and has keratolytic properties which helps it to remove the outer skin layer and promote healthy skin formation.
            • Rosa rubiginosa (rosehip) seed oil – boosts skin regeneration and elasticity and is also a powerful moisturizer.

            Other ingredients:

Water, Triethanolamine – helps to balance the pH of the gel and emulsify its ingredients; Carbomer – a thickening agent; Phenoxyethanol – a preservative; and Potassium sorbate – a preservative

How Do You Use Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel?

You should gently massage a little of the gel over the scar area until it is absorbed. This should be repeated twice daily – and Health Touch recommends that for optimum results, this should routine should be continued for 8 to 12 weeks.

            The Cost

A 1oz (about 30g) container costs $39.97, while the 2oz (about 60g) unit costs $69.98 when purchased directly from Healing Touch.

            Is There a Guarantee?

Healing Touch offers a full refund on returned products.

The Conclusion of Our Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel Review

Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel is not a cheap product – and we question whether it is worth the premium you would have to pay for it.

There is no question that the active ingredients in Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel are widely used in expensive skin care and beauty products. This indicates that this product would probably be very effective in improving the overall appearance of the scar area by softening and soothing it and its surrounding skin. However, there is no evidence provided to suggest that this product would actually cause the scar to fade or even disappear as the manufacturer claims sometimes occur with new scars.

Scars usually fade naturally over time. In much the same way, a twice-daily massage of keloid tissue would undoubtedly reduce their size and occurrence.

Because Healing Touch Premium Scar Gel contains Phenoxyethanol, its use may result in some adverse reactions such as eczema. If symptoms appear, you should discontinue using the product.
